Okay, so I have honestly always thought the whole idea of a New Year's resolution was cliche and semi-stupid, because who really sticks to their resolution anyways? BUT I've been feeling quite holiday-ish lately, and recenly felt the urge to go ahead and give this whole New Year's resolution thing a shot. I ended up coming up with five that I thought were semi-worth while, so here goes it:
1. Make time to study for my ACT- yes, this is probably the earth's most boring task, but I suppose it'll pay off.
2. Practice my clarinet- yep, you got it, this is probably the earth's second most boring task, but I really should get on that Bach solo for my school's annual spring concert.
3. Don't allow facebook to distract me from EVERY SINGLE TASK I ATTEMPT TO ACCOMPLISH- man, oh man, it's just bad. Really. Really. BAD.
4. Stop eating when I'm not hungry- why is food such a comfort? It's a serious problem.
5. Refraining from online shopping EVERY DAY- i know it's bad (and addicting), but i mean....it's sooo fun!
I know, some of you are probably laughing right about now at how stupid/silly some of these are, but hey...they fit me. So, now on to the hard part of actually living them out...... But hey, I still have one more day of freedom!

Holy Politics.
Alright, so as I was watching Bill O'Reilly tonight (yes, I do watch Bill O'Reilly--judge all you want), he had a segment about the "Top Five Dumbest Things Said by Politicians". Nancy Pelosi and the Arizona governor were just two of the five, which explains why it was so hilarious. Anyways, good ol' Bill inspired me to dig a little deeper into some politicians' qotes. Here are a few of my favorites:
1. "We have an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants in our country who need our help along with millions of unemployed minorities. Stock market profits taxes could go a long ways to guarantee these people the standard of living they would like to have as "Americans"." -Nancy Pelosi
*Since when are illegal immigrants considered "Americans"? Excuse me if I'm wrong, but I do believe if they're illegal, they don't have the same rights as legal American citizens. As Speaker of the House, you'd think she know that. Huh, way to go Nancy!
2. When Joe Biden was asked by CBS on September 22nd how he felt about an Obama campaign ad that made fun of John McCain's inability to use a computer, Biden stated that he thought it was "terrible."
"I didn't know we did it," he said, adding that he wouldn't have approved the ad, but defended Obama's decision to approve it. "The answer is I don't think anything was intentional about that. They were trying to make another point," he said.
*Oh really? You mean by making fun of McCain's inability to use a computer, Obama was intending to.....positively degrade McCain? Well, try again!
I don't know about you all, but I thought these were hilarious. Definitely made my night.

Oh, Christmas.
Alright, so here are my holiday thoughts:
1. My family voted NOT to set up a Christmas tree this year. What kind of a family doesn't have a Christmas tree? How the heck am I supposed to get all "festive" without a CHRISTMAS TREE (I guess you could say I'm a little upset)?Oh yeah, and where are the presents supposed to go? We have no tree to put them under, so....you tell me.
2. My gifting this year is limited to a very tight budget, so here's be being creative....
3. I have yet to complete my Christmas list and Christmas is NINE days away. The one thing i'm for sure about though is an electronic dictionary. I could not be more excited.
4. It's absolutely freezing outside. You'd think with a down-feather coat, UGGS, mittens, and a large, extremely fluffy scarf, I'd be warm....but think again.
5. Almost all good Christmas food is bad for you. Really? I mean, come on! Here's to gaining ten pounds over vacation...
6. On the plus side, I've complete all of my PSEO courses for the first semester.
7. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention my severe addiction to Christmas movies. Dear Hallmark, if your movies are so clliche, WHY are they so addicting? But aside from cliche, predictable Hallmark movies, I seriously love Christmas movies in general. Like White Christmas? Classic. Never gets old.
Anyways, that is all for now! Happy Holidays. And MERRY CHRISTMAS!
